Matching Pairs (also known as Concentration or Pairs) is a game in which players try to find the most pairs by flipping cards.

Rules of Matching Pairs

The game principle is quite simple. At the start, the cards are shuffled and placed face down on the board.

One player begins and flips two cards face up. If the images on the cards are identical, they may keep that pair and flip two more cards. If the images are different, however, they turn the cards back over and the next player takes their turn.

The game ends when all cards have been flipped over. The player with the most pairs wins.

As you can see, this game is played with a total of 36 cards. That means there are 18 pairs to find. In theory, Matching Pairs can be played with any number of cards—the more there are, the harder it gets.
